Last year, Clutch dropped their 13th studio effort, Sunrise on Slaughter Beach, during the summer. The record, released through the band’s imprint Weathermaker Music, received wide acclaim from fans and critics. The album entered four Billboard charts, peaking at number 3 on the Top Hard Rock Albums and number 12 on the Independent chart. The nine-track record spawned two singles, “Red Alter (Boss Metal Zone)” and “Slaughter Beach.” The album follows the band’s string of chart-performing releases.

In 1998, the band made their first breakthrough with their career-defining record, The Elephant Riders. The third major label release broke into the Billboard 200 and topped the Heatseekers chart. To create the album, Clutch collaborated with renowned music producer Jack Douglas, who has done exemplary work for Cheap Trick, John Lennon, and The Who.

A few years later, the band made their debut on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock charts with “Careful with That Mic..” The song, spawned from their fourth album, Pure Rock Fury, peaked at number 24 on the chart. Meanwhile, the album peaked at number 3 on the Heatseekers and number 135 on the Billboard 200. By the 2000s, Clutch became a consistent contender on the Billboard 200’s Top 50 with their subsequent releases, such as the 2007 and 2009 efforts From Beale Street to Oblivion and Strange Cousins from the West. Beginning in 2013, they soared to the chart’s Top 20 with Earth Rocker Psychic Warfare and Book of Bad Decisions.

This summer, Clutch brings along the alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr. The band emerged in 1984 from Massachusetts with members J. Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph. The band consistently released records through independent labels and has become one of the most influential independent alternative bands on the scene. In 1991, they made their Billboard 200 breakthrough with their fourth studio album Green Mind, which spawned the 1990 hit “The Wagon.”

This 2023, Dinosaur Jr. is promoting their latest effort, Sweep It Into Space, released in 2021 through the indie label Jagjaguwar.

Lastly, Oregon-born quartet Redfang joins the line-up this summer. In 2021, the band released “Arrows,” “Why,” and “Rabbits in Hives,” which stemmed from their latest effort, Arrows. Released through Relapse Records, the album follows a series of chart-performing studio releases, including their highest-charting effort, Whales and Leeches.
