Francesco Stepehen Castelluccio was born on May 3, 1934, in Newark, New Jersey, to Italian immigrant parents. He took the stage name Frankie Valli, and started his singing career by performing at church and local talent shows. Later, he created the Four Seasons with Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi.
They broke into the mainstream with the hit Sherry in 1962 and followed it up with "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man," "Rag Doll," "December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)," and "Bye Bye Baby." For their incredible work, they have been awarded several Grammy nominations and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are also regarded as one of the most successful groups of all time, having sold an estimated 100 million albums worldwide.
